Dream Catcher

Dreams, what are they? Theories abound to explain those often bizarre intrusions into the reality and sanity of life. Some say that dreams are our brains unloading after a stressful day. Our memories, as it were, taking a load off their feet and snuggling into big comfy chairs to hazily recall all that’s passed during waking. Others speak of the collective unconscious and the role it plays in societal change. Still others are sure that dreams are messages from God or Gods sent to us as we slumber.
Whatever they are, dreams are important. Studies have been done in which individuals have been denied sleep, the result being a hallucinatory waking dream, in which the brain forces those who have gone without dreaming to dream. So to with the Dreams, or plans, that we have in the waking world. Anyone who has no dreams, who plans no plans and outlines no goals will find himself living in an almost fake world, one in which all objects lose their purpose and significance. If you don’t dream, you die. That goes for planning out your life as much as it does for those nightly visits by Morpheus we have.
