Pavlov's famous experiment
One of the things that makes us human is our ability to Dream, to fantasize, for want of a better word. The brain’s special capacity to imagine the world as it is not. Animals can hope or desire- they can know that there is a possibility of something happening and they can expect or desire for it to happen. Thus Pavlov can make a dog think that the ringing of a bell means food, can train its brain to associate that sound with getting fed. The human mind is more complex, we can envision the future in detail and with multiple scenarios.
It is in fact, this very quality that make’s man truly different, by being able to forsee how events could play out, how certain pitfalls can be avoided and certain additions added, man is able to do much more than just wish but to plan- to truly Dream.
