Facing Obstacles
July 13thFacing challenges is something we all grow accustom to. From an early age we are taught that we do not get whatever we want whenever we want it. We learn that there is effort to be expended and prices to pay for just about anything; From “Please” and “Thank you” for a treat or snack to the dizzying triumph of climbing a tree or tagging everyone out. Results require energy and the more energy you put in, the better the results will be.
Sadly, many of us forget that our earliest Obstacles are there to teach us a lesson- Polite words in exchange for food teach us societal norms and manners, those trees teach us our limits and our abilities. Most of us look at Obstacles as pains, as necessary evils, far from the teachers they were in our youth. Maybe it’s time return to that view.
