NOT Like Learning to Ride a Bike

Certain things you remember where you learned.Everyone can recall when they discovered that loving someone else isn’t enough to make them love you; whether on Valentine’s Day at age 8 or with the reception of divorce papers at 31. You recall that blizzard in which you learned how to change a tire but do you recall who taught you to tie your shoes?

So many lessons, taught to us at an early age or just repeated in school over and over again, are just there- there is no one to attribute them to or to blame if you don’t remember them properly. This doesn’t make this sort of Wisdom any less important than the stuff that lives vividly in your memories. Is the ability to speak less special because we don’t remember our first words? All Wisdom is power, all knowledge is sacred, how you came by it is secondary, and a far second at that.
