On Beanstalks and Pipedreams

Climbing that Beanstalk

The dream is the seed of success. This does not mean that all you have to do is throw your hopes into the ground and -poof- instant achievement. Anyone who has done any farming, gardening or even grown an avocado in Nursery school will tell you that growing a living thing is much more complicated than that.

And that is why Dreams are the kernel from which accomplishment grows, because dreams are exactly the same. A dream does not grow unless you work at it. It can be buffeted by outside forces that destroy it. A dream can even fail to sprout at all if you plant it in the wrong place. But more than any of these other analogies, a dream is like a seed because it requires work. Nothing can grow without planning, without effort and without dedication. This is something that we can easily apply to our dreams and desires- They take planning, they take effort and they take dedication. It is only with all this in mind that we can hope to harvest the rewarding crop of our goals.
