eGO.com Travel FunletterFind the Fun! CONTENTS Extreme Vacation of the Week Real Travel Question EXTREME VACATION OF THE WEEKHave you ridden the “Jaws” ride at Universal Orlando? Wasn’t it great the way the big rubber shark kept attacking the boat as you went through the different scenes? If you were thinking, the ride would be much better with real sharks, here’s your chance. This outfit takes you on a shark dive. You don’t even have to stay on the boat, peering into the water from dry safety. Don your tanks and get in there with them. These aren’t the wimpy sand sharks your cousin swam with on his Caribbean cruise, these are the big boys, the Great Whites. Just like in “Jaws”. Think of the bragging rights. Go for it. No fear. DIFFERENT, BUT NOT SO EXTREME VACATION OF THE WEEKWe happen to like large cruise
ships, they have so much to do. But there’s a different way to see the
Caribbean. Consider a sailboat. A small boat that holds 4-12 people. Depending on your level of
experience, you can rent just the boat (called bareboat), or the boat and a
crew to go with it. Either way, the price per person will be comparable to a
cruise ship, and you will have a much more personal and flexible vacation.
You will be able to see remote, less crowded places that the cruise ships
can’t get into. The Moorings is a large operation with many locations, there
are also many smaller, independent operators. REAL TRAVEL QUESTIONThis week we start a new
feature, the Real Travel Question. This won’t be the type questions you see
in your newspaper travel section: people wanting to get a refund from the big
nasty airline or how to get the best deals to Las Vegas. We’re looking for
issues, not annoyances. The things that can cause you to have fun or not on
your precious two weeks off.
Since we write the newsletter,
we’ll come up with the first question, and turn it over to you for answers.
Here’s the question: You’ve been ordered by your spouse to spend a week at
the beach with the family, including your mother-in-law and various other
hangers on. Let us say that, in the past, similar situations produced
unpleasant results. What do you do? Come up with an urgent business trip that
week? Insist on separate vacations? Take some books and make yourself scarce
or take plenty of alcohol? Let us know what you think. Send your responses
and other questions to funletter@ego.com
