The towns of Gatlinburg, Pigeonforge and Sevierville share a wealth of activities, restaurants and attractions, it's near impossible to visit just one. Although the towns claim independence from one another, and hardly acknowledge the other, the three towns together make the area a viable destination. There is plenty of activities from man made attractions to the wilderness of the Great Smoky Mountains to entertain.
Since nearly everyone drives into the area parking is limited. Most of the parking is metered or for pay lots. Some restaurants and business do offer a limited number of free parking spaces. If staying over in Gatlinburg the best bet is to leave your car at your accommodations and hop on the trolley which is $.25 a ride and they'll take you anywhere in the downtown area. For an extra fee they'll take you to Dolly Wood and some of the other attractions that lie outside of town.
For those only in town for a short stay, here is what we feel are some of the must see or do activities in the area. For expanded information visit the appropriate sections within the guide.
