What We can Learn from Neville Longbottom
April 14thSometimes it is the little people who make the big choices. Sometimes it is the quietest and mousiest of people who can effect the biggest change. All it takes is the right moment and a lot of Courage.
Those quiet shy types are usually so not because of a lack of natural intelligence or acquired wisdom but precisely because they have quite a bit of both. A man who keeps out of fights or an employee who “knuckles under” are usually the people who realize just how bad and calamitous fighting back can be. These people are not wrong- they are just scared. They are aware of all they have to lose if they get injured or fired. So… when those people stand up for something or to someone, odds are they have already weighed their options and are aware of all the repercussions. They know what is going to happen yet they fight, this time anyway.
That, my friends, is true courage.
